Marc Schotanus and I have been penpals for several years. When he relocated to the US for a few months on an assignment
for Deloitte Consulting, he quickly got in touch with me, and we became much better friends over the course of a year.
During his first few months, I invited him to come out to California, (He was living in between Kentucky and the Netherlands),
so he could see San Francisco, Stanford, Santa Cruz and Campbell. Of course, over the period of the long weekend was
Halloween. Marc enjoyed California. We continued to meet all across the US, giving both of us an opportunity to
see places we hadn't before, such as Chicago and Wichita, KS.
